The HL Hunley was a Confederate submarine, the first to be used successfully in combat. After sinking the USS Housatonic on Feburary 17, 1864, the HL Hunley was lost at sea, killing all 8 crew members on board. In 1995, the Hunley was found off the coast of South Carolina and is now carefully preserved at the Warren Lasch Conservation Center in Charleston, SC.

The HL Hunley Traveling Exhibit is an interactive replica of the submarine, providing a opportunity to learn about one of the most important innovations of warfare.
